Over the past few weeks we had the pleasure of working with Lisa Schreiber of the Washington Post. Here is the cover art for the Holiday Happenings insert.

Personal Work...

largebouquet

Personal work has taken the back burner since Lady Juniper has come into our life. We've been focusing mostly on commissioned work for the past two years (diapers are expensive!) but managed to eek this piece out in between everything else.

November Walk

park1

Today we decided to ditch the studio and went for a nice, long walk in the park. Totally worth it.

Spanish Vogue Kids

Spanish Vogue Kids ran an article about artist parents and their kids (at least that's what I think its about) and we were happy to be included.

SmartWool Limited Edition

Over the past year I've been collaborating with SmartWool to create a line of limited edition of socks for the Spring '10 season. The experience was great and I can't say enough nice things about the people at Smartwool. Thank you to Mercedes Marchand for making this happen.

It's always fun to get samples in the mail, Juniper thought it was pretty cool too. Here she is taking inventory...

...and making sure they fit (i think she still has some growing to do).

The socks are part of SmartWool's Gallery collection. If interested, you can find them here at: www.smartwool.com

Fun in the Kitchen

Awhile back I worked on a project with Cookie Magazine and Jenny Rosenstrach to create hand painted kitchen recipe doors.  The process involved Jenny sending me a few of her favorite recipes as well as her kitchen cabinet door.  The first step was priming the back of the door with a few coats of paint.  Once this was complete I did a general layout sketch to make everything would fit a.ok. The next step was to hand lettering the recipes. So fun! I tried to keep the look somewhat loose in order to keep the feel of recipe cards.  I also scattered little drawings here and there to jazz things up a bit.  You can read more at http://www.dinneralovestory.com/2010/02/03/the-recipe-door/

Shopping List:

Matt found this while cleaning the studio, I think it pretty much sums up last year.

Hello, It's Been Awhile...

We've been keeping very busy around here and for some reason I never seem to get everything done on my to-do list....blogging, doing dishes and washing my paint brushes have definitely been on the back burner. But hey! it's March of 2010 and I'm turning a new leaf (or at least that's what I'm telling myself). Here's a little update from the past few months.

August '09

This past August the very nice people from Philadelphia Magazine came to take pic's of our humble abode for the Fall/Winter Issue of Home Magazine. It was a fun experience and our house has never looked so clean. Photos by Trevor Dixon, Styling by Barbara Botting, Article by Lauren McCutcheon.

Juniper turns one! We love this little lady more than words can say.

Even though she's really not a fan of sleeping at night (or during the day) we find her to be a very diligent studio assistant. Once she learns how to make us coffee we'll be set.

We've been working on lots of projects in the studio. One particularly fun one was a Journal for Chronicle Books. Thanks to Kristen Hewitt for being so much fun to work with...and for doing such a nice job with the design.

Lots of snow in Philadelphia. Lots and lots and lots!
